What a gem of a hotel in the Downtown area! We had such a pleasant stay the boutique hotel L’Hermitage in Vancouver, I would have a hard time staying anywhere else when visiting the city in the future.
We pulled up to the front door of the hotel and were immediately greeted by the valet. Parking here is $31 CAD per day with in/out privileges. Most Downtown area hotels charge a nightly fee for parking around this amount or more, so make sure you factor that in when booking your hotel.
The check in process was one of the most pleasant experiences we’ve had when checking into a hotel. The staff was so respectful, helpful, and pleasant. With it being our first time exploring Vancouver together, they got a map out and highlighted some of the areas that we should visit while on our trip.
We booked the boutique room, which included a king-sized bed and a city view. The bed was beautiful and comfortable (comfort is a must!), and we always appreciate having a king-sized bed.
The marble bathroom was spacious and modern, with a bathtub, stand up shower, a private toilet room, and quality toiletry items.
We had two nice chairs near the window for sitting, as well as a coffee maker and bottled water (not complimentary).
Complimentary Lexus Shuttle
We didn’t take advantage of it, but they do offer a complimentary Lexus shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3 km radius of the hotel.
They have a heated outdoor salt water lap pool and Jacuzzi, though we didn’t take advantage of those (first, we didn’t know it was there, and second, it was a cool fall weekend filled mostly with rainy days when we were there – next time!).
The location could not have been more perfect. It’s central to everything. We were able to walk to the Gastown District, Yaletown, and it’s just a short jaunt from the Rogers Stadium if you want to catch a Canucks game. We even walked down through the Yaletown area to David Lam Park where we caught the Aquabus to Granville Island and it was like no time at all (it was really a 15-minute walk, if you’re interested).
There is a Tim Horton’s just around the corner if you want to grab a coffee, and also a liquor store around the corner if you want to buy wine or spirits to take back to your hotel.
Turn Down Service
Turn down for what?! (Sorry, I had to). I’ve never had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that has a turn down service. When we got back to our room the first night, they had the fireplace on for us (an inviting little perk when you are visiting in the fall/winter), the covers where turned down, and we had a personalized welcome note and two delicious chocolates waiting for us on the bed. These little touches (especially the personal note) really make this hotel stand out. And yes, you get the little chocolates each night!
Thanks L’Hermitage for a great stay! We will be back again.
